Producer's Bios

Fred Johnson
Johnson has been producing documentaries since the late 70’s with titles like Another Year, Another Number, Death on Delivery, Hybrid City, Future on the Line, From the Shadows of Power and Cratis Williams: Living the Divided Life. His work has been seen on The Learning/Discovery Channel, WNET-New York, Kentucky Educational Television and Ohio Public Broadcasting Consortium, BBC 2 and the BBC’s World Service.

Jean Donohue
Donohue is an award winning documentary maker who has produced more than eighteen documentaries over the last twenty years. Her work has been broadcast on The Learning/Discovery Channel, WNET-New York, Kentucky Educational Television, the Ohio Public Broadcasting Consortium, BBC 2 and the BBC’s World Service. Her titles include From the Shadows of Power, The Trail of Hope, Augusta Writer’s Roundtable, Jack in the City, Sipiwi, Cratis Williams: Living the Divide Life and Leave No Footprints.

 

 


Frank X Walker
Frank X Walker consulting producer of Coal Black Voices, is a writer and founding member of the Affrilachian Poets. His photographs, poetry, short stories and essays have been featured in numerous publications, including "The Appalachian Journal," and "Spirit and Flame: An Anthology of Contemporary African American Poetry." He has recently published his first book of poems by Old Cove Press called "Affrilachia." He is also Executive Director of the Governor’s School.
